How To Set Up A Routine That Lasts In 5 Easy Steps

Do you ever feel like your day gets away from you and you get nothing done? If sticking to a routine is something that you have a hard time to maintain then I'm here to help. I'm going to show you How To Set Up A Routine That Lasts In 5 Easy Steps. It will be so easy that you will be able to stick to it for as long as you need and to adjust as needed.

STEP 1

Take out a piece of paper. Write out what your routine is right now for a typical day. Start with your morning, then afternoon, evening, and nighttime routines. Remember this is just for a typical day. I know that life can sometimes get in the way so do your best. Writing it out on paper can help you to truly think about how you spend your day.

STEP 2

Read over your daily routine a few times. On your paper under your routine make 3 columns with these questions at the top:

  1. What parts of your routine would you like to change?

  2. What parts of your routine do you feel need some improvement?

  3. What parts of your routine do you feel are working just fine?

Now after some serious thought list your answers under the questions in the columns.

STEP 3

For column #1 underneath your answers; write what you would change.

For column #2 underneath your answers; write how you would improve your routine.

For column #3 review to make sure you have nothing to change.

Next is the fun part. Cross out all the parts of your routine that you will no longer be using.

STEP 4

Write out your new found routine on that piece of paper. Hopefully by now you are writing on the back :-)

To help make your new routine last, get a new daily planner or organizer. You could even get a dry erase calandar whiteboard and make it visible for everyone in your home to see. This will make it easier to follow and remember for everyone in your home.

STEP 5

This last step is to test your new routine for a few days. Review, analyze and adjust as necessary till you get YOUR desired result. Again, of course this is just for a typical day. Tweak until you get the desired routine that you know you and your family can stick to for a long time.

If your day seems all over the place and unorganized it can be streamlined. Follow these 5 Easy Steps To Set Up A Routine That Lasts. It's good to look at your day and to see if it needs a refresh or just a new way of looking at it every few months. Do you feel that these steps are easy enough to follow? Do you think they will make a positive change in your life?

If so, I'd appreciate the opportunity to help you further. Feel free to email or message me for a free 30 minute intro call to see how we could work together. I would be honored to help you develop daily routines and ultimately find more balance in your life.
